In this blog post, I'll be sharing my personal insights based on my experiences as both a participant and a space holder in the realms of breathwork and psychedelics.

These modalities have played a pivotal role in my personal growth, unlocking emotional blockages, and fostering profound realizations that have genuinely transformed my life. Each of these practices has provided me with a unique avenue to access my subconscious mind.

Dispelling Misconceptions:

Before delving into the how-tos, it's essential to dispel some common misconceptions. Firstly, both breathwork and psychedelics lack addictive components. They serve as tools to revisit your psyche, revealing profound truths. While there's no guarantee of encountering whimsical visions like pink elephants or angels, you should be prepared to explore both the light and "dark" corners of your consciousness. Importantly, no prior experience is necessary, and each session is a unique, non-linear journey—there's no quick fix.

The truth is that there is nothing within us that can hurt us; it is only our fear of experiencing our own feelings that keep us trapped.

Creating the Right Environment:

For a meaningful experience, it's crucial for your guide to establish a deeply nourishing space, fostering human connections. This helps participants feel relaxed, trusting, and overall positive about the experience.

How to Approach It:

The magic begins with preparation. Lower your expectations, ask questions, express your needs, trust the process, and set a clear intention before embarking on these transformative journeys. Bringing awareness into these practices amplifies their effectiveness.

Integration, where the magic lasts, involves reflection and expression.

After each session, encourage participants to journal about their experiences, share with the group, and connect over a comforting cup of tea. Recognise that not everyone may find words to articulate their experiences immediately. Utilise alternative forms of expression such as dancing, painting, or singing, as these can be meditative practices for processing profound encounters. Continuous check-ins with participants post-ceremony ensure ongoing support.

In my role as a guide, it brings me immense joy to witness and support the personal journeys of individuals. A beautiful relationship of trust, reciprocity, and human connection is cultivated through this work. Personally, I hold a special affinity for breathwork—it's easily accessible and ever-present within me. The breath serves as a tool for conscious breathing, self-understanding, and embracing life with each intentional inhalation.
